Flavour, use & storage
Flavour profile
Warm and earthy with a gentle bitterness and a peppery finish. There is a faint gingery edge, which makes sense: turmeric and ginger are botanical cousins. The colour is a deep golden-orange and it will stain cloth, worktops and plastic.
How to use
Start with half a teaspoon a day. Whisk into warm milk with a pinch of black pepper for golden milk, stir into tea, or add it to curries, rice, scrambled eggs, soups and salad dressings. Turmeric's active compounds are fat-soluble and poorly absorbed on their own, which is why it is traditionally taken with a little oil, ghee or full-fat milk, and with black pepper.
How to store
Airtight container in a cool, dark cupboard, away from direct sunlight and the hob. Colour and aroma fade with light and heat. Check the pouch for batch and best-before details.
Before you take this
Turmeric may increase the effect of blood-thinning medication and can aggravate gallstones or bile duct obstruction. Large amounts may irritate the stomach. Speak to your doctor before taking it alongside anticoagulants or before surgery.

Questions about 100% Natural Raw Turmeric Powder.
Do I need to take it with black pepper?
Turmeric's main compounds are poorly absorbed on their own. Black pepper contains piperine, which substantially improves absorption, and a little fat helps too. That is why golden milk traditionally uses both. A pinch of pepper is enough.
Will it stain?
Yes. Turmeric stains cloth, worktops, plastic and skin a strong yellow. Wipe spills quickly and take care with light-coloured surfaces.
Is this the same as supermarket turmeric?
It is the same plant. The difference is freshness and grade. This is milled in small batches rather than sitting on a shelf for years, which shows in the colour and the aroma.
What sizes does it come in?
12oz. The herb is identical in every size — only the quantity in the pouch changes.
How is it packed?
By hand, in small batches, at our facility in Edison, New Jersey. One ingredient and nothing else — no fillers, flow agents or anti‑caking additives. The full ingredient list is printed on the pouch.
How should I store it?
Airtight container in a cool, dark cupboard, away from direct sunlight and the hob. Colour and aroma fade with light and heat. Check the pouch for batch and best-before details.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping then takes 3–5 business days and is free on every order, with no minimum. Express is available at checkout. We ship across the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. See our shipping policy for full details.
