Flavour, use & storage
Flavour profile
Mild, nutty and savoury with the faint seafood sweetness cooked lion's mane is known for. Much gentler than reishi, with very little bitterness. It disappears into coffee and broth almost entirely.
How to use
Stir a teaspoon into coffee, hot chocolate, tea or broth. It also works well in savoury cooking such as soups, risotto and gravy. Dissolve it in a little hot liquid first to avoid clumps.
How to store
Airtight, cool and dry. Mushroom powders pick up moisture quickly, so keep the pouch sealed and use a dry spoon.
Before you take this
Mushroom allergies are uncommon but real, so start with a small amount. Speak to your doctor before use if you take blood thinners or diabetes medication, or if you are pregnant or nursing.
This information is general and is not medical advice. Talk to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition.
Questions about Lion's Mane Mushroom
Is this fruiting body or mycelium?
Fruiting body, which is the mushroom itself rather than mycelium grown on grain. These are meaningfully different products and the distinction is worth checking on any mushroom powder.
Will it taste of mushroom in my coffee?
Barely. Lion's mane is mild, nutty and faintly sweet, and it disappears into coffee far more easily than reishi or chaga.
Can I cook with it?
Yes. It works well in soups, risotto and gravy, and keeps its savoury character through cooking.
What sizes does it come in?
4 oz, 8 oz and 16 oz. The herb is identical in every size — only the quantity in the pouch changes.
How is it packed?
By hand, in small batches, at our facility in Edison, New Jersey. One ingredient and nothing else — no fillers, flow agents or anti‑caking additives. The full ingredient list is printed on the pouch.
How should I store it?
Airtight, cool and dry. Mushroom powders pick up moisture quickly, so keep the pouch sealed and use a dry spoon.
How long does delivery take?
Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping then takes 3–5 business days and is free on every order, with no minimum. Express is available at checkout. We ship across the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. See our shipping policy for full details.
