Flavour, use & storage
Flavour profile
Malty, nutty and faintly butterscotch-like over an earthy base, with a slight radish sharpness underneath, since maca belongs to the brassica family. Noticeably sweeter and more pleasant than most root powders, which is why it works so well with cacao and banana.
How to use
Start with a teaspoon. Blend into smoothies, stir into oats or yoghurt, or mix into hot chocolate. Many people build up gradually. If you find raw maca heavy on digestion, gelatinised maca is easier to tolerate.

Before you take this

What is the difference between raw and gelatinised maca?
Gelatinised maca has been heated to break down the starch, which makes it easier to digest. Raw maca keeps more of its original character, but some people find it heavy.
What does it taste like?
Malty and nutty with a butterscotch note and a faint radish sharpness. One of the more pleasant root powders, and it works very well with cacao.
Will it keep me awake?
Some people find it does if taken late in the day. If that happens, move it to the morning.
What sizes does it come in?
