Flavour, use & storage

Flavour profile

Sharp, green and peppery with a mustard-like bite. Watercress is a brassica and tastes like it. The powder is far more concentrated than the fresh leaf, so a little goes a long way. It works best with lemon, apple or cucumber.

How to use

Start with half a teaspoon and build up. Blend into green smoothies and juices, stir into soups at the very end of cooking, or whisk into a dressing. Avoid long cooking, which dulls both the colour and the flavour.

How to store

Airtight, cool and dry, out of light. Green powders lose their colour with light exposure.

Before you take this

Watercress is high in vitamin K, which can interfere with warfarin and other blood thinners, so keep your intake consistent and speak to your doctor. Avoid medicinal amounts during pregnancy, and speak to your doctor if you have kidney or thyroid conditions.

This information is general and is not medical advice. Talk to your healthcare provider if you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition.

Questions about Watercress

How is this different from fresh watercress?

Same plant, dried and milled, so the flavour is far more concentrated. A teaspoon of powder goes a long way compared with a handful of fresh leaves.

Why does it taste peppery?

Watercress is a brassica, related to mustard and rocket. The peppery bite comes from the same family of compounds.

Can I cook with it?

Stir it in at the very end. Long cooking dulls both the colour and the peppery flavour.

What sizes does it come in?

Powder / 4 oz, Powder / 8 oz, Powder / 16 oz, Raw / 4 oz, Raw / 8 oz and Raw / 16 oz. The herb is identical in every size — only the quantity in the pouch changes.

How is it packed?

By hand, in small batches, at our facility in Edison, New Jersey. One ingredient and nothing else — no fillers, flow agents or anti‑caking additives. The full ingredient list is printed on the pouch.

How should I store it?

Airtight, cool and dry, out of light. Green powders lose their colour with light exposure.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Standard shipping then takes 3–5 business days and is free on every order, with no minimum. Express is available at checkout. We ship across the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. See our shipping policy for full details.
